I'm about to build a front bumper, then a rear in a few weeks. Does anyone have suggestions on how to design the mounting brackets? I rent my house and can't do the work in my driveway so it'd be nice if I could have everything set up to throw it all on in one shot instead of having to pull the stock equipment, measure it out, build the new brackets, then install.

All I could find in a search was people asking about making bumper brackets to match after a body lift. Any assistance here would be appreciated.

Where are you gonna do your fab work? In your living room? If you've got space to fab some bumpers, how come you can't just have the truck there as well? The chances that you can build it with just a few measurements are pretty slim I would think. Nice to have some time to measure/check/refit etc after you get it built. I am sure there are some pics of different brackets though. Check out the "custom bumpers" thread in the fab section. might find some ideas there.

The fabrication will be done at a buddy's house, but he lives an hour away. The hope is that someone will have some sort of information on the bumper brackets so I can get the brackets made, as well as the bumper, so when I go to my buddy's house we can pull the stock bumper and equipment, fit up the new mounts, get the new mounts and bumper lined up, then do the final welds... as opposed to having to start from scratch on the mounts and end up killing the whole day.

I honestly didn't even know this site had a fab section! I'll go dig around there a bit and see what I can find. Thanks for the reference.

For my rear bumper I just unbolted the bumper and reused the stock brackets. THey where flat and square.. just like a bad pronm date... :-)
