hood latch help needed ASAP

right now i'm working on a ford explorer and the hood is jammed. i went to close the hood and the hood jammed in the popup position. it wont completely close, or release so we can open it. anyone know what to do?

It needs to be adjusted.
Remove the grille so you can see what you are doing.
Likey it will take a few big adjustments and then a few tiny just to hit the jack pot.

There are these " nipples " that you'll need to pop out with a punch. Pop them out and toss em.

I just looked at my Ex, you may not have the afore mentioned nipples.

Did the hood get closed on tools or something? Try pressing it down while someone else pops the lever. It sounds like it is jammed on tools..unless it has some front end damage that may have knocked it out of alinement.

I have to wad up a few pieces of paper towel in between the handle and the under-dash opening to keep the handle fully extended to open her up .. Or have some one pull on the handle while you try to pull open ...
