I just finished replacing my headlight switch in my 99 5.0 and re-installing the lower trim pieces and hood release bracket. The hood release bracket re-installation is somewhat awkward due to the recessed bolts and release assembly configuration. Here is a tip which makes it go a lot easier:

Since the spring-loaded handle is recessed towards the back of the bracket, it is difficult to line up the bracket with the bolt holes, holding the bracket with one hand and start the bolts with the other hand. In order to support the bracket, I took a bungee cord and hooked it around the handle and looped the other end around the steering column and secured it to itself. This held the bracket in place with the handle extended which allowed for easy installation of both bolts.
