My hood has been getting slowly harder to open one person about 2 weeks ago its now a 2 person job to open the hood, is there any ways to maybe fix this or any alternative methods to hood close and open.

is the latch getting stuck or the hood is having a hard time opening (as if somethings sitting on it while your trying to lift it)?

Heres full detail. One Person has to be inside of the cab pulling hood release and holding it. While other person is lifting on the hood. Now while lifting the hood it feels like 500 lbs and you have to giggle it right n left and then itll finally pop open.

you have to giggle it
no wonder its so difficult, youre giggling when you should be opening the hood :p

umm, i know since i removed my latch and replaced it it hasnt worked correctly, it never fully shuts either. i dont have to pull the cable inside anymore, it stays in the 'popped' position.
but anyway, i know sometimes i have to push down on the hood to get it to unlock

jiggle*** good ****e, sorry spelling errors are always awesome.

theres been a few times my friend has had to lay a lot of pressure on top of the hood to push it down to pop it up, my only problem i dont always have me and someone else in the ride to open the hood

i use my left hand and put a good amount of pressure sometimes to the area just to the left of the latch(passenger side of latch) and then try and go at the lever.
that seems to be my sweet spot, you may have to find your own.

mine worked fine before i removed the latch for the engine build.
now its held on by one bolt and the 2nd bolt in just the threads stuck in the hole with the head broke off. and its aligned up way to high.

did you mess with the latch at all?

the end all solution would be hood pins. ive been thinking of them myself

I never messed with that hood release latch, i found a set of locking hood pins for 25.00 they aint fancy looking which is good for me, because then you dont see them as your walking by. so bascially installing them is like installing a bolt, shut the hood, have it marked above and drive through both at same time.. maybe ill get them and just be done with the mess.

im gonna go look under the hood at that suport to see how hard it would be to get another tool inside it... i look at the kit and it looks simple

update; talked to a racing friend of mine, he said since its the old steel hood and not a fiberglass and i wanna use hood pins strictly with no hood latch and want a locker he recommended 4 standard pins and a locking pin to bare the weight so will do so in next week or so, try to remember do a write up w/ pics

Ok they are in, all almost done, got to dark and need extra set of hands, just bottom nut tomorrow and all done. Oh and 2 "pretty" screws since I broke a bit.

Heres what they look like
