maybe some part of the switch is broken and rubbing?

Heh that had to be embarassing.

I had a friend this happened to once in a different car. It was pretty funny. Every time he turned into his schools parking lot everyone would look.

Anyway take apart you steering wheel and look for anything obvious. There are two torx head (looks like a star) screws under the wheel that hold on the cover of the wheel. Take the 2 screws out and then pull up on the cover with the ford emblem on it. There are 2 sets of wires attached to it I belive so you cant pull it very far out. Then there is a big metal thing with some rubber on it right in the center of the wheel. That is the horn button. If it looks damaged or out of place then it could be your problem. If everything looks good then it could be a short in the wire and that would be harder to find. Good luck.

biohazardboi, I know this is a serious problem but damn, man, that is one funny problem. Just keep making right turns. :D ...sorry.

Maybe the steering damper fell off and jammed the horn somehow? If you search for "steering damper" you will find some threads about them falling off first gen explorers.

this happened to me in my 92 once, it sucked. One time i was going around a corner and and this black guy had just crossed the street and my horn started going off. He got all pissed and flipped me off and yelled " F U cracker" all i could do was laugh. I took the cover of me wheel off pulled out a few little chunks of stuff and horn worked right again.

thanks Brain1

i took apart my stering wheel at my friends shop and the metal thing that has the rubber thing broke off and was just flooping around inside the stering wheel and was catching the switch so i just took it out. So for now i dont have a horn but oh well hehe

what a strange problem.

Hahaha, that is some funny ars stuff man! Yah I don't have a horn either now:( . I was out in the desert offroading at night and I was going through some turns and a few rocks kinda fast, then all off a sudden my Harbor Freight Air Horn just starts blasting continuously. If you can imagine, me and my buddy had to open the hood and disconnect the wires with an two trumpet air horn aimed right at our ears. Now that was interesting:rolleyes:

The exact thing happened to my '92. That big ass chunk of lead in there broke off and was bounding around. I'm assuming it's lead cause it's heavy for it's size and you can write on the concrete with it!! I just pulled it out. My horn still works though!!!

Thats funny...

Reminds me of the time we deided to take a megaphone on spring break. Before we even got started, there is a police station in the front of my GF neighborhood. When we came to the stop sign, the megaphone must have slid up and turned on, THE POLICE SIREN. It was funny as hell, a police car pulled in and was looking at us. We just pulled into a gas station, popped the trunk (the siren is still going off mind you), and took the batteries out for the rest of the trip.
