14 mpg is pretty bad, but in the winter I get about 15. Without MTBE, I get 17mpg. Mostly highway driving too, and I go easy.
Your mileage may not be that bad, Black. I can easily squeeze in 3 more gallons at a fill-up from where the nozzle shuts off automatically, so perhaps you really didn't use as much as you think. 17.5 gals instead of 18.5 would bring you to 14.5 mpg - not great, but not out of the ballpark either.
DON'T BELIEVE YOUR TRIP COMPUTER!
You need to keep track over several tanksful and average it. Go to the same station and use the same pump, if you can, and either fill it to the brim or let it auto-shut-off, but be consistent.
Unfortunately, if you're like me, you're not at the point where you would actually save any money by spending $$$ ( $75 each!) on new O2's if you don't need them. Squeezing 3 more MPG (17 to 20mpg if I'm lucky) for a $300 would take 2000 gallons, or 40,000 miles to amortize.
