My has some cracks in the under site where it has the accordian flexes in the plastic. Can you usually just pic a new one of these up form Advance or do I have to go to the dealer? Is there something better to put there in terms of better performance over the oval shaped plastic hose? I am talking about the black plastic hose that says "caution fan" on it leading form the filter box into the top of the engine. 93 explorer sport 4x4 4.0 L v6

you can find these at the junkyard sometimes for a lot cheaper than buying one new..or you could ask around on here (post an ad in the wanted forum perhaps), i'm sure someone has one that they would sell you cheap

Build your own highflow cold air intake... http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=173035

by the way, that is called the air intake tube

It's discontinued. You can't buy a new one anymore. Your source is a junk yard or Ebay. I found mine on Ebay cause no junk yard by me had 1 for a 1st gen. Junk yards by me are useless for the X.
