Fuel Line To Engine From Fuel Filter

Yeah the cheap fuel injection was $1.99ft, I got the high pressure $7.99ft, but now....

I'm only getting 39psi, I rev the motor the psi drops to 30 at 3krpm and 25psi at 4rpm, totally opposite of what it should be doing, instead of more rpm more psi, its more rpm less psi...

any one have a explanation for that? or come across that before?

low output or restricted flow

Your 1999 Explorer has a returnless fuel system. Fuel pressure is controlled by the intank fuel pressure regulator. Are you sure that your reading is accurate? Some fittings on fuel pressure gauges don't adequately depress the Schrader valve core. You may want to unscrew the valve core and measure again. If your readings are accurate, your fuel pressure is dropping at higher engine speeds because your fuel pump has low output, there is a split in the hose between the fuel pump and the fuel pressure regulator, or their is a restriction somewhere in the supply path. If your fuel pressure drops 14 psi when the engine is revved in park/neutral when there is very little load on the engine it will probably be even more significant when accelerating in gear. As a result you would lose power and possibly get misfire codes.

Since you've already replaced your fuel filter, it's probably time to drop your fuel tank and inspect the fuel pump assembly. This thread may help: Fuel pump replacement - 2000 Explorer Sport

Yeah I was about to order another fuel pump but like you said I should inspect fuel pump 1st by dropping tank. i'll drop the tank in the next few days and look at it then

So, one problem after another. Now I cant find a fuel filler neck hose to gas tank. What size is it 1 1/4"? and Where can I find one, 2 Advance auto parts store, a Napa store, and a Auto parts supply place don't have them and cant order them.

Update on what happened, every bolt broke on the fuel tank that's only 2years old, so ordered a new tank and fuel pump. The amount of crud in the tank was unbelievable. Fuel pressure regulator of course had to break also. This hose I'm looking for is malformed its probably letting crud into it from around the filler neck.

Definitely not buying that turdle, thx tho. Bill, I just need the hose

Hydraulic return (suction) hose works great. Bring an old sample to your local tractor dealer they will set you up, the larger sizes will probably run around $5/foot

Interesting. The gas wont eat up the hose?

It won't harm hydraulic hose

just keeps getting worse....

Now the part Rockauto sent me don't look like the stock one. The fuel vapor pressure regulator or whatever its called that twists on to the tank itself, if you look inside the stock one it has some orange piece, the new one I finally just got delivered from rock auto doesn't have the orange piece in it. Does anyone know anything about this?

How do I post pics from my phone? I'm on a Samsung Galaxy S3 or S4

I managed to get a digital camera since no one can tell me how to use a expensive cell phone to upload pics here. The orange one is the stock part, the other part is new part from rockauto http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=940533&cc=1354553

Just a guess, could that be the rollover spill protection valve?

Bill

Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor that twists into the fuel tank.

I contacted rockauto and they said send a pic to service@rockauto.com which I did of that pic shown and of course no response back. So calling them back tomorrow.

Yup it was missing that piece. So rockauto now decided they have to send me a return thing to put on box to return part which will take about a week, to get here, then when they get the part they will send me new one. So I have to wait about or atleast 2weeks to get new one even though I demanded them to send me new one overnight or atleast 2days.

Yeah real nice service they have there. I'm pissed Oh and they wouldn't refund my express shipping I paid for to get this part I needed. I needed my explorer weeks ago...

Does that seem any kind of fair to anyone else or **** service like I think...I never encountered such bad service in my life and I always order things online. If something wrong they usually overnight or express deliver new part and refunded my express delivery charge. Not wait weeks to get new one and no refund on shipping
