How big is the gas tank??

From my '97 Owner's guide:

Fuel tank capacity (2 door) 66.2 L (17.3 gallons)
Fuel tank capacity (4 door) 79.5 L (20.8 gallons)

i tried to squeeze 22 gallons in mine but i guess it wasnt quite empty and some shot out the emergency hole or whatever. i had a nice puddle of gas under my car at the station lol

I had the pump auto shut off malfunction once and i was not near it. About 10 gallons spilt on the ground under the car. I told them and they hit the emergency shut off and made me push my car away from the gas spill. Then they put that absorbant stuff on it. Because it was on a gas card I had to pay. They said it was my fault. If it was cash I would not have paid those extra ten gallons for their malfuntioning equipment. Needless to say I will never fill up at that station again. For those of you in Houston it was the Chevron at the corner of Westheimer and S. Gessner.

2 Gallon Minimum ??

So, an X WILL restart if you add 1 gallon ??

In my 'Destruction Manual' it states that you need a minimum of 2 Gallons of gas to get it to restart (prime the FI pump I guess).

Always wondered about this - but not brave enough to test it !!

My owner's manual for my 95 says 22gallons for the 4 door.

wow! ive never put more then 17 in my 95 4 door X! I usually get gas when its just about on E. I never let it get to W (below E, stands for WALK).

i'll let my computer tell me to fill up this tank. I want to see how soon the warning beep comes on and see how much gas i have at that point.

'91 four door's have 21.3 gallon tanks, or something like that I think. I'll have to check my manual when I get home.

right now i use the Chevron at W. Airport and S. Gessner or the one at FM 1092 @ Ave E
