I was trying to get some larger speaker wire through to my front door speakers and ran in to a problem. There is a pin connector that connects through to the door and I spent about an hour trying to work some #12 in there. Only thing I can think of is to drill my own hole and use some flex. What is the factory speaker wiring rated at? Will it handle 65 watts RMS if I just tap in to it?

I used 12 gauge in my doors, and I went through the junction box there. You have to pop the bottom off it with a screwdriver and then thread it through (used a coathanger and tape) you won't be able to close the block back up but I uses some RTV silicone to seal it up and no one notices it.

Good luck.

I used 12 guage home theater wire. The jacket was very thick which cause some problems.

For the passenger side, pull back the factory rubber gaskets that are used to pass the wires through now. Slip in the wire while it's open, then snake it through and resure the rubber loom.

The driver side is a lot harder. There is a box with the cables and controls for the windows right at the wire entrance. Try to squeeze the wire through there or just use a smaller cable for that part. I had to use a loom to cover the cable on that side.

Hope my advice helps

The only way to get it through that connector properly is to take the door off and drill out some of the empty holes. I did it, it's not that hard.

Thanks for the replies. Sounds like it will be as much fun as I thought!:hammer:
