I got a new 220amp alternator(160 amp idle), but for some reason it's triggering the battery light. I have no idea why. I measures all the voltages & everything is correct. It doesn't come on when I use my 160amp alternator(90 amp idle). Eveything is working correctly, I've had the alternatorr on for a week now.
SInce thing are working right I just want to disable the idiot light.
Thanks

There is no way to disable the battery light other than removing the bulb.. Have you verified there isn't any issues with the alternator, voltage regulator, etc?

God damn that's a powerful alternator.

Is the battery light steadily on, or does it flash? How old are your battery cables?

If you're sick of the light I guess you could pull the gauges to disconnect the bulb, or just take the easy way out and cover the light with electric tape.

Charging system is fine. I think it's just cause the system is pulling more amps at idle now. The system thinks there's an overcharged condition resulting in the battery light being always on.
Cables are pretty new. I have 1 gauge wires from the alt. It's not a huge deal. I thought there was a fuse or wire conector I could pull.

14.86 at idle.
