How do I disable the automatic door locking mechanism?

On my 98 XLT AWD 5.0 the doors automatically lock whenever the tranny is shifted from park. How do I turn this off?

Type in your info, and you can download the owners manual electronically. Search for the "Autolock" info, and the procedure will be in there...

I agree. Autolocks are the worst feature ever.

If I wanted a car to lock me in, I would have bought Christine.
