I've been searching for about an hour on this site and google and believe I have the 5R55E...but just want to make sure. I even read the Transmission and Transfer Case Specs by year Sticky thread, but didn't see a definitive answer.
Someone please chime in and let me know what transmission I have. Thanks.
BTW, the reason I need to know is that my wife lost reverse a few weeks ago. It is still driveable, but she has to be careful where she parks so she can pull forward out of parking spaces.
If it's just the reverse band...it that pretty cheap to fix? I'm not really in a position for a new transmission or hefty labor costs since I was unemployed for 6 months this year and now earning about 50% of what my last job paid.
