Hi fellow Explorer enthousiasts,
My rear window wiper suddenly went from wiping to remaining in the rest position and just saying "vrrr---vrrr" each time you turn it on. I gather the power is still on, the relais is ok, probably something mechanical is loose or in a "dead" position. Therefor I want to remove the inside panel. I've been trying everything for the past two days. It just won't come of. I removed the upper screw (under little plastic panel) and the hand grip (two screws). It still is as fixed as can be. Anyone can help me out...
thanx,
Roland

(Quote from a guy long ago)
Sometimes the rear wiper simply gets "stuck" and you have to manualy help it out of the cradle.

Turn on the switch,go outside and pull it up, it might start working.

If the motor inside the gate is making sound, but no movement outside, the plastic gears are stripped inside.

(My words)
I think after you reove all the screws then you only have to push the panel up and then pull it away from the door. There is some little plastic fingers(L shaped) holding the the panel on.

That plastic panel should be held on just like all door panels. It should have those push in retainer clips all around the outer edge. To remove go to any auto parts store and get a body panel removel tool or a small pry bar. Work your way around starting at one corner and pop them out. You may want to purchase a large box of replacement ford interior panel retainers. I got a box of 15, I think, from auto zone a few months back to replace the ones on doors after putting in new speakers. Hope this helps.
