G'day, well after a long spell of unemployment I am now back working, albeit a 3 month trial, but I'm earning again. And trying to fix mi truck.

How the hell do you get the door card off to change the door mirror?

Mick.

the mirror can be lifted off the hinge it swivles on, but after that i dunno lol

If memory serves me there are 2 or 3 cross headed screws in the middle of the door panel, they are hidden behind some plastic blanking plugs. remove the inner door opening handle clip.

Once these are out yoou need to carfully lever off the panel from the bottom, the first few clips (about 14 in total) around the edge (bottom and two sides)are the worst so use a flat blade until you can get your fingers under the edge.

Once you have the clips off you need to disconnect the puddle light and push the panel up and off the window edge. Then disconnect the window and door lock switches.

Once the panel is off there are 3 x 10mm nuts that hold the door mirror on to the door (and the electrical connections to the mirror).

about 20 mins a side

cheers

jim

Yep this is about right but also there is a hook of plastic on the inside of the door card near the mirror

To release the switches console from the door card depress the little tab on the back underneath at each end shown below

Oh and congrats on the job, hope it works out for you. Been there myself and done the 3months and the releif when taken on proper was emense.

Oops, I have manhandled the switch panel out and removed the 2 screws.

Anyhow, so it's a bit of brute force around the edges with a broad bladed driver to pop the very tight clips.

Cheers guys.
Mick.

Cheers Howard, been looking for that.

Thank you to all who helped

Mick.
