How do you get to your Roof Basket with 5.5" + of lift??

I would like to know how those of you with roof baskets and especially those with sare tire mounts in baskets and have 5.5" or more of lift, get up to their basket. I have found a few steps and wondered what you think about them or how you did something different.

well, i dont have a lift, but i stand on my front or rear seats with the doors open, or stand on the tires or the bumper to reach the roof.....

I stepped up on the bumper, then the rear hatch Tbar or the rear window handle. But I took the basket off, accessiblity being one reason.

Yahh, me climbing up the side of my Ex will look like King Kong climbing up the side of the Empire State bldg. Soon I'd have helicopters flying around my head and my little boy would be throwing rocks at me trying to knock me off. hahaha.

I like the step that can sit on the tire and be removed. Its like 30 bucks and it folds away and can store under the seat. I just want a sturdy platform cause I will surely fall when that little SOB of a son of mine hits me in the head with that rock.........

The tire step looks like a cool idea...that is unless you forget it was on there and drive away (something I would do)

Yep you and my wife. But she would give it the gas until it broke free!!!!

I either step up on the tire or just use the back bumper and grab on to the rack to pull myself up.

Year and years My Mother drove halfway to work with a trailer on the back of her station wagon before looking in the mirror
