I
Luv
it!

For the finger prints, just take a quality microfiber towel, spritz it with a quality quick detailer, wipe the screen, and then gently buff dry with another dry microfiber towel. Looks good as new!:)

Couple things that I would like changed:

1) I wish the terrain selector would stay on the last position instead of always having to pick SNOW( Canada) lol
2) sync is a littl slow but still kicks but for features
3) power folding rear seats are finicky..sometimes mine work other times they stop half way when trying to stow?
4) my BB doesn't always connect to bluetooth

Still no real big complaints. Can't wait to take it on a longer trip. Still only 200kms on it...

Love it!

Just about to turn 600 miles and LOVE it!!! Went through my first real tank of gas on my 50/50 City/Hwy split, and averaged 19.26 MPG, which is fine with me! Just put my Splash Guards and Bug Shield on yesterday, and now I'm just waiting on my Husky Cargo mat and Window Tint (Next Sat) to get done and I'll be set until Fall. It rides very nice, my only pieve so far is that I can't get the goop from the windows to go away!!!

so far we are loving it!

One thing i dont like, If you hit the power lift gate to close and get in and turn the ignition before the gate is fully closed, it stops and doesnt close. You have to reopen and close it.
Not horrible, but annoying nonethe less.

I also wished that when you switched to manual mode, for those with select shift. I wish it changed the throttle response and steering response.

First post here after picking up my X on Friday and taking off for a get away weekend. This car is really pretty amazing. XLT with a few bells and whistles, sterling gray and charcoal interior.
Pros:
1. The drive is pure pleasure, responsive and smooth.
2. Moon roof is just plain fun.
3. Detail and quality is as good as any.
4. Manual is fun, just not sure that it will get used much.
5. MFT is pretty cool, yes comes with finger prints :)

Cons:
1. Like others have said, the hazard tab is probably not in the best spot and I have set if off quite a few times.
2. MFT while cool, pretty much gives me a headache learning it. I'm better after 4 days, but we still don't get along all the time.
3. I want to just enjoy the X and the ride, but keep getting caught up in all the trick stuff and can't figure the wi-fi out to save my life yet.

So how do I like it??? No buyer remorse here at all folks!

Agree on the touch screen....go to nushield.com. someone else here told me about them, and they now have the '11 Explorer as an option to order. About $20 for screen film and cleaner kit.

I don't understand the need for LCD shields. Won't the shield now be the one getting the fingerprints instead of the LCD? Does everyone use MFT while wielding knives or are finger nails scratching the LCD? And everyone knows you got a microfiber cloth just for cleaning MFT in their user's manual right? No need to have all the cleaners, terry-cloth lint-free towels and sprays on-hand after every smudge. I consider myself to have some mild OCD too. The dust on the dash bothers me more than the fingerprints on the screen that can only be seen when the vehicle is off/screen is black.

Can't disagree with you on absolute need, but I've seen way too many touch screens on smart phones, eReaders and iPods get permanently marred by a nail or something else because I didn't make the small investment to protect it. In my mind, there's less long term wear and tear on the touch screen by cleaning the protective film versus the screen itself.

One detail I noticed that stood out. So simple, yet so nice to have.

The rear defrost appears to have a squiggle to heat up the wiper (less ice build up).

Shields are cheap insurance against having to look at a nick/scratch for years to come.

Anything can cause it, and unless they are using a super hard substance for screen, I'm going to spend $20 to protect it. Even something as simple as cleaning the screen with a dirty micro-fibre can lead to scratches - again depending on surface.

My HTC smart phone had a protector on it from day 1, then within 1 day of taking it off because I felt I didn't need it, the surface scratched, and I was VERY careful with it.

My Zune HD, has as screen that is so hard it's virtually impossible to scratch (online demos show razor blades and keys not able to scratch it) and it's still in perfect shape with not a mar on it.

We just don't know how the MFT screen is build. If it's not harder than anything that might come into contact with it (i.e. wife's purse, phones, etc.) it will scratch.

Thanks for telling us that!!

My Land Rover had a heated windshield which worked great! Now I have an Escalade truck and Buick Enclave that HAD heated windshield washers. They were recalled and GM removed them and gave us $100 for each car. Was a fire hazard supposedly?? They really worked great also!

we are very happy with our XLT. good job, Ford!

My Buick has a heated steering wheel. My favorite feature ever. Going to miss that so much.

Excellent product compared to the current competition.

Fit and finish on mine is second to none.

MFT needs to be sorted out ASAP to instil customer confidence.

How many owners with the Powerfold 3rd row seats feel that the switch pack that controls them from the rear tailgate area should be backlit?

When its dark, the interior lighting doesn't allow you to see the button labelling.

Or am I missing something?

Agree on the switch and general lighting back there being dark. Could use a lower light source for the well area. Overall happy but still breaking her in.

We are very happy with our limited.

Only Cons would be:
sluggish MFT
Maps on Nav are pretty old. Our housing development is not recognized nor my brothers. Each of which have been around for 4+ years.

Both pretty minor details. I had to tow another one of my cars the other day (I don't tow much) and it honestly felt like nothing was behind me!

Pro's:

Handling is fantastic
Unbeleivable traction on snow covered road
Quiet comfortable ride
When working, Sync/My Touch is awesome

Cons:

Sync/My Touch is slow, unreliable and freezes
Phone sync is sporadic
Sync/My touch must be reset every other day requiring a reset by pulling the fuse
Ford owners manual is incorrect on location of fuse box
Fuse is in odd location, very hard to find and difficult to pull
Intermittent warning lights (Blis, tire pressure, check engine) that come and go after 10-15 minute intervals
A-Pillar noise and vibration at highway speeds
Ford Customer Service (Sync) is clueless, acknowledges issues with Sync on grand scale but has no resolution or solution

Suggestions:
Ford should have expected issues with Microsoft/Sync techology to handle hundreds of phones - Re-set button on console would have made too much sense
Buyers should wait for bugs to get resolved
Ford Customer Service is overwhelmed and under trained on Sync and issues

Hopes:
Hope upgrade from dealer will resolve issues
