How do YOU, Track you Fuel Mileage?

Ive asked a few people I know how they track how much MPG's(Liters in my case)

I just want to know what all of you do? How you you know that youre getting 18MPGs?

Starting with a full tank I drive around until I need to fill up. When I fill up I divide the number of miles I've driven by the number of gallons it takes to fill it back up. Then in the past I have recorded that in a little memo pad that I kept in the center console so I could watch what it was doing long term. Now I use an app for my iphone that does the same thing for me, shows me lots of pretty graphs, average mpg over time, cost per mile, etc.

hey whats that app called? I use gasbuddy.com, but entering it on my ipod too would be cool.

fuel mileage at my fingertips. and who doesn't love pretty graphs? the ones gasbuddy use are pretty bland.

I tried the whole writing it down in a note book, but I ended up loosing it lol, I just downloaded an App for my iTouch, it seems promising, Im doing a 600km trip tomorrow and Will hopefully have a review for it =) Its called Gas Cubby, It looks pretty sweet =)

For a short time I wrote stuff in a notebook which I found to be a pain. Now I just get a receipt, write the miles I've driven and enter the info. into a spreadsheet I made that does the calculations automatically.

The app I'm using is road trip lite, haven't had it for long enough to reccomend or not though.

I used to only measure when I had a complete fillup and never kept an ongoing log. Now I'm using Mileage Monitor on my Pre. It keeps an all time log and last tank number. It continues tracking even if you don't top off on every tank.

I use the trip odometer and a calculator. call me old fashioned
