How does the rear ABS work?

Hey guys. I have a 2002 Ranger Edge and my truck has the 4 wheel ABS system. I was wondering how the ABS system works in the rear end? What exactly controls/monitors the ABS system? Reason why I am asking is I'm wondering if I did an explorer rear end swap if my rear ABS would still function properly. Is it controled from the VSS sensor or what? What year Explorers with Disc brakes have rear wheel ABS? Also, what size are the spring perches and where could I purchase a set of stock perches and shock mounts? Dont suggest the dealer for those because I believe they wont sell those things separate like that. Please get back to me guys.

the Rear ABS (RABS) sensor is in the top, front of the diff housing. Held in with a single bolt. If you pull it out it is a shiny metal cylinder (magnetic). I believe all rear disc X's have at least RABS.

I thought that was the VSS sensor? In my 99' Ranger that sensor went bad and my truck went crazy. It couldnt shift properly and some dummy lights would come on. So is the VSS and ABS sensor intergrated into one sensor unit? Please let me know guys.
