I want to install a couple of 12 volt power ports in my center console tray area just ahead of the two cup holders,....on the vertical section.

Can anyone tell me how this section of the console is removed?? I see one small hex head screw in the storage tray area.

Also, what normally goes in this area to cover the screw and other cut outs??

I see you have an Explorer Sport, so don't know if the center console is different or attached differently than an Explorer's console, but besides the one hex nut you can see in the tray area, there should be 2 more screws towards the rear of the console. There is one on each side, along the carpet in the rear portion. Just pop off the little plastic cover plates and you will see the screws. You might have to slide the front seats forward a bit to get to them. I can't remember if there is another screw under the upper half of the console or not, near the middle area. The front edge's of the center console is held on by velcro tabs that you can just peel apart. On what covers the tray bottom, is a rubber mat and the cup holders should have small, rounded mats in them as well. If your console has any power ports in them already or any other electrical button(mine does), there may be some electrical plugs to unplug once you lift up the console. It should be easy to remove. Hope this helps.
