Ok I know the picture is crappy as so is the photoshoping but it is just for the general idea. I have a vinyl plotter and have a bunch of black vinyl. I was looking at taillights to put on the sport trac but all I found were those cheesy "euro" tails. Not really my style. So I was wondering what you guys thought of blacking out everything but the reverse and brake light circles including the 3 reflectors. I made a crappy pic of it just so I can get a decent idea in my head before I go and plot out the vinyl to cover it. Let me know what you guys think.

I did try it. Didn't quite work. The tail light goes out and down so the vinyl creases when you try to apply it. I tried heating it up on a warped version of the graphic to try and stretch it to fit but still had the same problem. It was close but not what I wanted. Unfortunately trial and error are my only tools for the moment. I might get it one of these days.

You could try cutting into a couple pieces so it doesn't crease as bad.

I'd rather it be one piece, so I am right now warping the vinyl plot to adjust for the difference, should be a little bit longer hopefully by the end of this weekend.

given any thought to simply tinting them??

I have seen people spray a tinted automotive clear coat over the lense, you can adjust the black to get it darker or lighter. On your black it should look alot better than euros or the factory red.
