How Does Your Explorer Handle?

I'm not real big on doughnuts, I'll do a few but that's about it. I'm a huge fan of controlled slides through unplowed neighborhoods and low traffic streets late at night.

I used to hate driving my explorer in the rain! I hydroplaned all the time with my General Ameritracs, but my friends and I just called them General Hydroplanars. But now, with 31" Pirelli Scorpion ATs the X drives like a dream

I've got a 2000 AWD with REVO tires and Gabriel VST shocks. It handles well for a truck, but it can't be compared to a car because of the high center of gravity. However, it seems to handle more shure-footed than my 99 Durango did. There were a couple times when I thought I would flip that but that could just be me growing up :p

Here in NYC there is a beach parking lot in Queens(Riis park) and the parking lot is 3 sections each a 1/2 mile long and this past winter with the blizzard my truck was having a blast with 1 1/2 - 2 ft of snow gotta love it!

Oh you musta got the crap edition, mine handles like a ferrari :D
LOL!!!

Mine has those cheapo General XP crap tires but surprisingly has not given me any problem. I test them once in a while on snow/rain just to see if I would hydro plane, but nope. Them cheapo tires are the bomb. :D

There was a time when I wished I didn't have an Explorer. The night I went out to a party with this girl and I drove her home in the worst of worst weather with ice, drifting snow....it was a total nightmare, couldn't even see. But I dropped her off at her house and drove home, to find out that her mom was going to let me spend the night with her daughter. This was when I was midway through high school and I wanted the girl, so it could have been great. But no....I had to have a reliable vehicle, with a competant driver behind the wheel. :fire:
