what year is your truck? What option radio do you have? Any CD changer, Rear DVD, subwoofer? What radio are you thinking of putting in?

its a 95, 6 disk cd changer in the armrest, no facroty subwoofer that i know of, no rear dvd, and model # is pioneer p6900ub

Is it an Eddie Bauer or a Limited? They have a factory amp in them.

If it's an XL then I'm 99.9% sure that there's no factory amp. You should be able to just get the dash kit, and I'd get a harness kit so you don't have to cut into the factory one, and you should be set to go.

Last week I ordered all the stuff off of Amazon to do mine, the tracking number says my HU should come wednesday, I'm not sure about the harness and dash kit. I don't think you said what year yours is, but here is the links for the harness and dash kit for a '97.

yea its a 95, and i hope thats all it is because then i do it myself and now have to pay labor for a shop to do it. If when you do yours you could take a few pics showing the steps, thatd be perfect, if not, if you could hit me with a description on how to do it thatd be alright too, i did the headunit swap in my accord, but hondas = everything easy to do. I hope this one will be just as easy.

All I've got is a cell phone cam right now. It wouldn't give very good pictures. I assure you its easy to do though, I changed out the HU on my dads explorer.

Just take a coat hanger and cut a piece off about a foot long. Bend this into a U shape, and stick it into the holes on the side of the stock head unit. Push it in until it stops, then about 1/4" further and push towards the outside of the HU. It will come loose, then do the other side. When you get both sides loose, pull out the stock HU, unhook the connectors on the back, plug in the connector kit you bought, then put in the dash kit. Now just splice the wires from the connector kit to your new HU and pop it in. Simple as that.
