How is the sound quality of the factory head unit?

I know my friend's maxima got a factory bose sound system and it does have a great sound quality. I don't hate mine but wanna hear better sound without spending too much money. So what I am thinking is just replacing the factory headunit with another aftermarket headunit under $200. My question is replacing only headunit will improve sound quality? (keep the factory amps, speakers, wires or stuffs..)

you can get a really good deck to power the stock speakers. itll sound a lot better too.

if u wanted to splurge a lil you could possibly get an amp, speakers, and an HU from $300-350

that deck has amazing SQ! and has 3 rca inputs and ipod hook up.

Yea if you have the premium sound system the stock speakers aren't bad - better than a typical stock system..
