Just like the title says mine never gets too even the N in normal. And I'm getting bad gas milage 8-9mpg city =( but I'm doing a tune up this weekend so I figured I might as change the thermostat if it's bad while in there

My truck is plugged in but usualy 5 mins of idling and a quick drive down the road the temp is in the centre and toasty warm

Idk bout my engine but my heater is HOT after 90seconds

it takes mine about 5 mins to get heated up. i start mine up for about a min to get oil turning and i start to drive slow out of town and hit the highway and then by that time it warming up. On a really cold morning it takes longer about 10 to 15 minutes.

i have too start my car 15 mins early and then its not even warm. but it runs good except for crappy gas milage

I start mine up and only leave it idle for maybe a minute then put it in D (not OD) and drive gently accelerating to abt 80kph and it takes the thing maybe 8km to be up to between the N and the O in normal and that is where it stays. I have a new Tstat and sender as well as a winter front. It takes abt the same time regardless of temp so far but it has only gone down to -26c so far. Now when we hit -35 we'll see.

well it was -16 F here the other morning and mine never got but a butt-hair above cold after 30 minutes of idling.

about 2-4 minutes of driving it starts warming up, and at normal temp after about 5-7...

My 97 doesn't take long to heat up in the mornings. Less then 5min I would say. But I not long ago changed the Thermostat and before that it never got warm. And @llamaking122 if your letting your vehicle idle for 15min every morning, plus if you have a stuck open Thermostat I can see why you have crappy mileage.

I have never gotten my 93 to the middle of the temp gauge except once when I was playin in the mud with it. I get decent gas mileage for the age though, about 17 on the highway and the heater gets hot in about 5 minutes.

My 94 is taking awhile to warmup too. Ill start it up and have to drive prolly 2-3 miles before i start to feel any warmth. Im getting very poor gas milage too. About 12mpgs. I have brand new coolent, rad, thermostat, waterpump, everything to do with the cooling aspect of my truck and it takes for ever to warm up.

Make sure your thermostat is the right temp range and is not opening too early. If you have to time disconnect your clutch fan and see how long it takes. Maybe the clutch is stuck and your fan is actually spinning at full speed all the time and not free spinning when needed. You can actually try turning the blade before you start the truck one day. It should turn relatively easy.

Gets heat about 2 minutes down the road and really toasty after 6 or 7. Has never got close to overheating in the 2 years I've had it and I get plenty of heat just into the red zone on the heater control.
Gawd I love my 'sploder!!

Mine begins to put warm out the vent in about 2 miles down the road.

Heat is never a problem. Gauge reads cold to very cool (not hardly to the "normal" range.

I suspect my temp sender (sensor?) isn't giving correct data, or maybe an out of calibrate gauge.
