Has anyone here done a SYNC3 upgrade? If so, does your USB music source remain at the same place, ready to play after the vehicle being shut down and restarted?
From what I am reading on-line, this stopped working this way around 2019 or so.
In my '16, I use an iPod mostly for music. If it's playing when I shut down the truck...when I restart..the music is at the same place. (It was the same in my former '18 SHO and wife's former '18 EcoSport, both with SYNC3)
However, my '22 Mustang SYNC3 doesn't do this...and it's annoying. Upon restart, it takes time to find the iPod or USB drive...and often it times out, reverting to Sirius or radio. About that moment, the USB devices are again available. I assume it's because the power to the USB shuts down after so long...and it takes to to reconnect. If I unlock the doors as I approach the car...it's OK as it has enough time to get connected. What's really strange is that the iPod connects faster than the USB drive.
I really want to do a SYNC3 upgrade, but if it's going to have this loing delay for connection to a USB drive for music...I may not bother. Thanks for your thoughts.
