Looking at a 99 explorer sohc, and a 99 mountaineer 5.0. Both have transmission issues; the 99 is slipping bad (typical 5r55e) and the 99 mountaineer has no forward gears (the truck only has 109K miles, how this kid ####ed this up is beyond me).
So, how many shop hours to swap out a 5r55e or 4r70w? I can get used low mileage transmissions for 500 and 350 respectively.
