I did this mod, and am getting to replace the tranny again this summer, after replacing it about a year ago. (Well I'm not positive it's the tranny, could be TC, or flywheel, fluid is still red, but its definitely acting funny). Anyway, I don't think this mod has anything to do with it. I agree that it's a matter of taking up slack in the cable, and you will be able to tell immediately following the mod whether or not it's kicking down right. Mine's always kicked down fine, so I didn't worry about it. I agree, just be observant before and after the mod about the trannys actions.
