how much can this cost

i got a error code of p0743 said incorect gear ratio
my exp sport has 131k on it its a 99 sohc

Gear 4 improper ratio... That's a new one. Is the OD light flashing, or is the CEL on?

all in the job and yes my od lite flashed when befor the code was read

if it helps any my light was on all the time and eventually my tranny went. since the new tranny my light hasnt came on.

That code is for the 5R55E (5speed Auto)

The code indicates that there is an electrical problem with the shift solenoid. It is possible to replace the solenoid without dropping the transmission. I'm thinking that if you only need to replace the solenoid, it should not cost more than a couple of hundred $.
