i have dual exhaust w/flowmaster and dual exit with 3.5 inch tips......and i like the sound and all its great, but i was wondering if gettin 3 inch tips or maybe a 2.5 would make it sound any differenty?......the 3.5's make a pretty deep sound to me.....would 3 or 2.5 be deeper?...
The 3 1/2" tips will have the "deepest" sound compared to the 3" or 2 1/2". I would suggest taking your truck to a custom muffler shop in your area and see if they'll let you try a couple of different tips to see what you like the best.
I have the same muffler and I have 3Aracing tips, 3". The sound is much deeper and I love the rumbling sound when shifting. I sounds like.....hmmmm....an SUV or better. It's like a Brooommmmm sound. not Brttttttt sound. Will that help? Dead Link Removed. Anyway, I'm thinking what you are thinking what will be the sound with a smaller size tip, or plane stainless tips like the monza glass pack tip? I was following an Explorer last time and he has a 2.5" stainless tips and it sounds like a race car not an SUV.

I don't really know how tips affect sound but Megs makes a tuneable exhaust tip (you can get them from Summit or Jegs). Also does anyone use a Supertrapp muffler? They are tuneable by adding or subtracting deffuser disks. www.supertrapp.com/ Thanks for any info.
