hi quick question how much for a new wheel bearing kit?

I assume you want a front wheel bearing. If so they are quite expensive as you have to buy the entire front hub. The bearings are not replaceable on their own. Think in the region of £200 per side.

Of no help given your location, the wheel bearing ass'y at a popular US auto store is $160.99, assuming the 97 vehicles are similar between US and UK.

It may be $160 in the US but when you add taxes & duty the price tag jumps up to if not over $200.

I did see a front wheel bearing kit on ebay a day or two ago for about 5.00, i think you would press the bearing in and out of the old hub, like with ball joints, maybe.

When i had to replace my nearside front wheel bearing a replacement front hub was 201.00 from Ford, as Ford do not sell the bearing with the hub.

thanks guys, and yes howard it was the front i was asking about,sorry i didnt make it clearer.

anyway bought one and at £20 sounds like it was not a waste of money if they are a pain to get,as think i have one thats rumbling.
