is it okay to have any grease in the autohubs? I took mine off today and it is coating the entire inside of the hub (with the exception of the tip) is this OK? or should i use paint thinner to get it out? I had a problem that i thought was my hubs but when i jacked up the front end, they both engaged when i moved the front driveshaft. i tried to stick a piece of paper between the outboard pad and the rotor and i couldnt do it, leading me to beleive that i have 2 sticking calipers. now that i know why i have so much heat buildup, i am trying to find out if all the grease that traveled to the hub is bad or can i just leave it?

Don't use thinner or another other solvents to clean out the hub. If you look closely, there is a bearing inside. Its sealed so you don't wanted to wash the grease out of it.

When I had my 93, I used to just wipe the inside of the hub with a rag. All that grease comes from your wheel bearings when you set/torque them.

so if theres a lot of grease in there, its a safe bet to assume that my bearings are missing grease. should i repack my bearings, then?

When the wheel bearings are packed and then torqued, the compression of torquing squeezes out excess grease. Its a good habit to repack the bearing on a regular schedule. Need to buy 2 grease seals for the inner bearings. Also a 2 3/8" socket and torque wrenches. (both in lb and ft lb)

Its your call whether to repack the bearings.
