Ok - I just had a RaVin 33 Series muffler and 2.5" custom piping throughout put on yesterday. That, in combination with the Tru-Rev up front, add I'd say about 15 HP / Torque. Think I'm right?

Oh yea - this muffler is rock solid. Sounds great on the ouside, nice and marbley at idle, and solid through the power band. Inside, can't tell that much of a difference, cruizing at highway speeds, still - nice and quiet.

What do you think?

Probably closer to about 10 hp/tq total. But it'll definately increase throttle response. Glad you're happy with it.

Glad your mods work and you are happy with them. I agree with ALEC about the HP gains but only a dyno would tell you the true tale. Seat of the pants HP guestimates can be incredibly unreliable in under and overestimation. The important thing is that you are satisfied with the money you spent! I am happy with my SOHC but sometimes wish I had a setup more like yours. Seems that unlike my SOHC, the 5.0 takes to mods like ducks to water.

Thanks guys for your feedback and yes, I'm very happy! The best part, is how smooth this thing is throughout the band. Even the wife noticed and asked, 'what'd ya do?' LOL, if she only knew :)

What's next? Throttle body, MAF, chip? What do you guys recomend?

And again, thanks!

well, you wont be able to find an aftermarket throttle body (you can adapt 88-93 'stang), but factory TB is a 65or 66 mm so it will work fine. no need to go bigger unless you're goin with a charger/cam/head mods. i would recomend a chip (i like diablo) if you dont mind running 93 octane. and dont forget to change your thermostat to a 180 degree.

Thanks James!

That's what I thought as well, fogo all the other stuff and just go for the chip. But a question, howcome the thermostat as well? What will this do different than stock?

Thanks again!

The chip raises the engine timing and the 93 octane and the 180* thermostat will help keep the engine from pinging.

RTStork- exact sentence i had in my head to reply...

Josh- your pinging is detonation and would be the same as running a chip with no lower temp. therm. and no high octane fuel. you have an engine/computer problem.

Try cleaning your MAF. Give it a shot of throttle body cleaner. Make sure its throttle body safe, not just regular carb cleaner.

Yes, those are the parts you spray. I had the same problem on my Mustang so I cleaned the MAF and it is much better. I still had a slight ping so I changed out the spark plugs with some with one heat range colder. I cant guarantee it will work but its a cheap try.

Thanks Guys!

Thanks guys for all your help and recomendations. I've too cleaned my MAF and have noticed that my pinging did go away while at idle. I never had it at speeds. Next up for me, is a chip!

Which RaVen is that?

They have 4 options in the Z-33 Class...

RA334250 to RA334253 consecutively.

Cheers. I am looking at some exhaust.

How much did that cost? and did you get a chrome tip as well??

Hey Fischer!

The Z-33 class is all the same, all the different models just list out the configuration of it (in dia ", out dia ", offset, etc). So, i'm not sure of the exact model - the shop does though :)

Total was $255, I had a $20 coupon, so it made it even cheaper. I got the muffler, custom 2.5" bent pipes all around, and no tip (waiting on that, I'm not sure I want that as I like the rough look of the tip now). For me, it was the best deal!

Ry.

I also have the raven muffler on and love it. i ran my stock 2 1/4 pipes thougn and put on a borla square angle cut tip. The exhaust cost me $135 without new pipesand the tip welded on. I got the tip for $28 from my local custom shop. As for the chip i should have mine back on tuesday or wednesday so i can tell you how it works on a 98 5.0. I had to send it back because ford reprogramed my computer one time when i had it serviced and that changed my code and i didnt know it. Major
