How old are my tires? Are they really 15 years old?

Thanks! This gen of Explorer has always been my favourite. A perfect balance of being a rugged and robust truck while coddling passengers in car-like comfort. I always loved these as a kid and wanted my parents to get one as our family car (they never did). I ended up collecting model cars of this gen Explorer instead.

There's a lot of smart ideas in this gen; the thigh support extenders are unique, the inflatable side bolsters are something I've never seen on any other car, and the overall design is, IMO, one of the most attractive, handsome SUVs ever.

I'm so glad that I get a chance to relive my childhood fantasy of owning one of these.

How many miles did you get out of your '93? Your memory does serve you well; the interior colour, according to the window sticker, is mocha

I got about 215,000 miles out of the 93 and about 275,000 out of the 96 EB that I had. Both were OHV V6 engines! NO engine work required on either, intake manifold was going on my 96, but that was it for engine work. Both vehicles were still on the road and very drivable at retirement, but with that kind of mileage, just feeling old and rather tired. LOL on the model cars, I've got 2 1st gen die cast cars.

Awesome condition 1st gen! The most truck-like gen of them all :)

Mine also has the Mocha interior. But my '94 has the DUAL CUPHOLDER so at least that I can hold over you! You should consider the DUAL CUPHOLDER mod, so that those riding with you, also have a place for their tasty beverage.
