How strong is AWD on the 5.0?

My dad regularly tows about 5400 pounds of boat and trailer with his 2000 AWD 5.0 and hasn't had any problems yet. Would take a lot of hard launches to break something.

Saleen trusted AWD in almost all XP8s, and Saleen engineers assume that their vehciles will be driven fast.

Ya know if you really wanted a cool 60'ft time you could always rev it to 5300rpms and throw it into drive...

Heh I wonder how many things would simultaniously shatter.

Most Saleen drivers I've ever met drive slower than grandma's. Thats why Mine isn't a real Saleen so I can mod the hell out of it and not feel guilty :)

I've done a 3500 rpm gear drop in a parking lot. The weak link was traction. Now 5300 rpm on a sticky track should yield different results.

Slow Saleen drivers! Ha! Probably worried because it's too expensive to wear out.

Reminds me of my brother. He has a '99 Mustang GT convertable. He's always peed off when he says a Viper or other fast car with an old fart driving it.

It launched a little too good this past Wed night at Sears point. I tried every different launching technique and was still cutting the lights too close, or often red-lighting. I found the best was to stage as shallow as possible and leave 1/2 way through the 3rd yellow light. Typically, that's waaay too late. But in the X, i was pulling about .6 RT's consistantly with this technique (on an .5oo perfect light).

Yeah I have been practicing lately at a local 1/8 track but I still can't be consistant. You get any times?

Rockey: Was the parkinglot wet?!?
