How to change the Trunk light??

Ok, my question is that how to remove the lid from the trunk light in the back and to change the bulb, you know how many times I've tried it and I just can't do it. It seems that whenever I'm going to pull it, it's going to pull with the ceiling carpeting and I just don't know what else to do. I have all my interior light hyper white but' it's just the back light in the trunk that's screwing up everything. Someone tell me by detail how to remove this lid and change the bulb.. Thanks.

it has 2 pims well tabs that hold it in there.... get 2 mini flat screwdrivers and push them up the left and right side.... then just pull it will eventually pop loose.... also the bulb is a funky one.... if trying to find a colored replacement, it may be impossible....

Ahh, the notorious back bulb lol...

I wanted to kill myself the first time i tried getting this thing out....god it was annoying. LIke Jim said, it does indeed pop out, just don't force it out, or else it will rip your carpet and possibly break.

As for replacing the bulb with colored ones....just buy some gel sheets (thigns that people use in theater productions to change colors of lights)...workes like a charm. I have green and purple in my car, and everyone things their neons in there, cause of the different colors.
