look on the door jam sticker (might be on the door or could be on the post it self) and in the upper left corner it should say date built with a 2 digit month and 2 digit year
02 of 2002 is still darn early in the year. Why do you say they were a piece of crap? Do you mean the end of the old body style or the beginning of the new?
That really isn't that early in the model year, they start producing well before the actual year starts..
02 models would have been released mid-late 01, so if it wasn't actually manufactured until feb then it's pretty much half way through the production year.
I think Ford US release new models for the following year in September the year before. So the first 2002 model would have been built in 09/2001. My 2004 model was built in 11/2003. An 02/2002 is almost halfway through the production year run.
