2003 Mounty 4.0 2wd Base
2003 2WD Mountaineer. Had a bad rear driver side bearing that I just replaced, but now very randomly I get a faint click-click-click from the left rear only on higher speed left turns. I drive 30 miles to work and literally only heard it once when I hit a green light for a sweeping left turn. I've gone through the rear disc and drum emergency brakes twice now, and certainly don't think this is an issue (knock wood), but would love to conquer the noise. The CV feels great to me, as tight as one new off the shelf. Zero play in the CV's when turning them by hand from the center shaft. The clicking is so faint that with the minor roar from the failing bearing I never heard it till I replaced the bearing.

Just a little update that I hope is the solution. When I replaced the drivers rear wheel bearing, I used the new Moog assembled knuckle part no. LK-001. Today rolling through neighborhood i noticed a tic....tic....tic that disappeared upon the lightest brake pedal. Upon more thorough inspection, I noticed the rear inboard disc pad felt loose and could slide up and down between the perches probably 3-4 mm. Comparing to the old factiry knuckle I took off....the gap is DEFINITELY wider. Gonna shim the anti-rattle clips and see if that solves the issue.....but not thrilled with Moog right now.
