Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer
hello everyone,

i am new to this forum and not even sure this is the correct page to ask this question. I' appreciate any advise and help in advance.
I bought a 2000 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer last week and the door locks have some problems.
The keyless entry system works but the locks don't go up, they seem like they get stock when i press the remote, only passenger side rear door's lock unlocks so I have to open my door using that door.
I heard that this is a common problem on these cars.
Is it easy to fix it?
I await your replies...

The doors on our 2nd generation Explorers have all sorts of issues whether it be weak springs or bad latch designs. Your best bet is to use the forum's search tool to locate some threads in the archives that will address your problems. I've had similar issues in the past and currently my door handle is limp and an actuator needs work. I did fix a similar issue that you're having with a zip tie. Sort of a pain in the butt, but there are many fixes discussed that should help you out.

Welcome to the site.

hello celly,

thanks for your reply.
i think i am going to bring to a mechanic to fix it.
i have another question,
my gf took the car to the 5 minutes oil change today and they put 5w20 instead of 5w30 and the check engine light came on after.
is it ok to drive with this oil? or should i take it back there and ask them to change the oil again and put 5w30?
do you think this issue caused the check engine light came on?

welcome
