How to fix vent/ defrost problem

I tried the search but could not find a solution. My 05 Explorer only blows air from the defroster no matter what position the switch is in. I have tried to follow the vacuum hoses but do not see any disconnected or cracked.

The problem is with the arm that moves the door behind your dash. It has most likely broken.

Try a search for "blend door". You probably will find your answer.

My 2004 also has the same issue. It is the broken arm or lever for the blend door.

To find it remove the trim around the radio and then remove the radio. It will be behind the radio a little to the left as your looking in there.

The issue is now. Ford wont sell the lever. THey want to sell the etire heater box for $400.

Anyone have any ideas other then a junk yard??
