how to fix window?

The window on the drivers side door rattles when i hit a bump. If i put the window down and grab the top of the window i can move it up and down a inch or two. I have a 2001 explorer sport it ha power windows it goes up and down but makes a funny noise like it shakes. Any ideas?

ok i know exactly whats wrong my 99 does it the glass came out of the clamped channels and it's outside the channel rail and what your hearing is the rail ticking or banging against the glass. first step is to roll the window about half down and then remove the door panel and disconnect it from the door. second peel back the insulation look inside the large openings and you will see the glass sitting outside the clamped channel. third reach in with a razor blade and cut all the old adhesive out of the clamp and on the glass. fourth buy the strongest adhesive for glass and metal i used this 2 ton epoxy mix glue. fifth squeeze the epoxy into the clamp and place the glass into the clamp. replace door panel roll window all the way up and leave sit for 24 hours or longer for best seal

Just checking out the site and noticed this post. I just had to fix mine on Tuesday. I used JB-Weld, I hope it holds up.

i checked mine and thats not the problem

I took the panel off the door and notced the window track was loose moves back and forth a little and i found a rivet in bottom of door. I cant seem to find where the rivet came off of it is a strage looking rivet almost like one end you could put a small nut on but flat on other end

I had to use a small bolt, just drill out the track where the spot weld went...or rivet

I used a regular bolt the first time and ripped all my window tint, and I just got it done 2 weeks befor.
