- 1999 Ford STranger 4x4
so i have been on here for a while and ive done everything i could think up and gave up on this about a year ago...
so my truck isnt a daily driver.. 99 ford ranger 4x4..
and before any of my super modifications it sat for about a week through a bunch of rain...(no flooding)
ever since, the check engine light has been on with maf and iac ground circuit codes. i worked for ford for 6 years doing diesel work so i had our gas shop look at it... after throwing 4k in parts at it.... its the exact same...
parts replaced were all new no reman or used..
complete wiring harness
2x pcm's (gas shop said that the first might have been bad)
2x MAF sensors (same as above)
2x IAC valves (same as above)
all new body and chassis grounds
almost every other sensor on the truck
instrument cluster
alternator
and numerous other (i dont know whats really wrong so lets try this) parts that were recommended by the gas side of the shop
as for myself, i grabbed an ECM and traced every single wire on the new harness and theres nothing wrong there!! not even wierd resistence readings and the voltages are dead on...
even more info is that the truck wont run with the MAF plugged in, bogs down and dies at idle, (even with the new parts) but runs fine with it unplugged but eats gas like crazy!
all in all, i gave up about a year ago and said the hell with it, i can still get an inspection sticker for a fee....
ill let you guys give it a shot...
and the motor and trans are 100% stock.. no mods at all
thanks
