Liftgate Handle Sticks - How to fix?

Rook here. First post. Had my 1999 Explorer since 36k miles. 115k now. Always been a good truck. Been fixing a few things with the help of this forum! Great place!
1. Replaced my rear wiper motor (hasnt worked in years)
2. Put new leather over my center console lid
3. Replaced Multifunction Switch to get rid of the demons that would randomly turn on my wipers for me.

I'm on my last annoyance but cant locate a thread discussing it. My liftgate handle sticks. I've seen a number of other posters with this problem but no solutions. How do you fix it?

mine was sticking, i took the cover off and lubed everything good with PB blaster
it has been perfect since

pb blaster or wd40 do the trick sometimes you can just squirt it on the handle on the outside and it will work fine
