so i was driving doing about 65 on m-59 and i heard a loud pop and then i encounterd death wobble so i pull over aka almost died in the process to find 3 studs sheared off and the only reason my wheel is still on is cause of 2 studs that i guess backed out but still have the lug nuts attached... so i got it towed home and now im trying to get the wheel off but when i throw a impact on it they just spin... how would i go about getting thease out?? :thumbdwn:

yah i pounded them and tried to tighten them. would i need to take the dust sheild off the back of the like brake thing to be able to c the rear of the studs.... cause if i look now all i see is that sheild?

Another option if you don't have much of an other option is to burn them out with a torch, it won't hardly hurt the alloy wheel.

No friends have one they could bring over for ya? :) May want to check some local places, some rent those kinda tools out.

noo... what about a plasma cutter... i have on of them lol?? i just dont think it has a long enough beam ...

It's an (oxygen + )acetylene torch, not a settling tourch.

Use the plasma cutter to cut most the way through the lug nut, then a chisel and hammer to finish the job.

lol i kno what kinda torch it is lol i wouldent feel safe using a plasma cutter if i dident kno what it was called lol ill try that

It is not like stock wheels are hard to get or expensive. Cut the sucker off any way you can.

How about drilling them out? Put a wrench around the lug-nut and drill out the center.

That just screams hospital visit to me....:D

Heat the crap out of it then Take an heavy impact socket one size smaller or metric and beat it over the nut.that how we use to get locks off wheels that we didnt have keys for:shifty_ey

I have, a couple of times, managed to pull a wheel out away from the vehicle enough to "wedge" the stud in place, and gotten the lug off with a air wrench.

Good Luck!
