Hello

I have a 2002 explorer XLT and want to install a rear backup camera. How do you get the wires to the back of the truck? Is there a wiring channel under the trim? Also is there a fuse block at the rear for the trailer connector, that I can get power from the backup lights? I want to put in a acc. pulg to run a cooler, so the rear fuse block should have power I can steal from right?

Thanks Greg.:)

The easiest thing to do would just be to run the wire out of your cab through the firewall and run it down to the back along the frame.

But I want to mount the camera inside on the roof looking down. That way the rear window will always be clear ( no snow).

Okay, I know for sure that this exists on the passenger side, never checked on the driver's side before. If you take off the tan piece of plastic in the bottom of the door jam (whatever it is called, the tan plastic next to the carpet at the edge on the floor next to the door) on the passenger side you will find a channel with lots of wires running in there. These wires are the wires to the brakes lights, and even the hose that carries the washer for the rear whipper. I know this channel goes at least half way back to the truck.
