How to put a LSD and Powertrax non-slip traction system in a 04 base model open rear diff?

Hey just was wondering again about more **** for the exploder. I have a base model plain Jane 04 xls 2wd with a open rear diff. Axle code 45. I was looking through all the Powertrax drop in lockers and Iam just confused as hell. Do I need to put a full LSD in it or if I just put the Powertrax non-slip traction system “locker type thing” in the open diff. In other words iam really asking if you can put a locker/“Powertrax non-slip traction systems” in a rear open differential case? Idk if this even makes any sense but any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

not sure i completely get the question, but the powertrax just replaces the spider gears, so it could work with the LSD housing or the open housing assuming you get the right model. since you have the open carrier, just grt the no slip for the open carrier and youre all good! not sure why you would want to purchade an LSD? the powertrax converts any setup (opej or ls) to the auto locker style, regardless if its orevious setup. and not sure why you would want the LS careier, theyre usually weaker than the ooen carrier, so TLDR dont get anything else just stick w the open carrier and put the powertrax in.

yes! does yours have the open carrier? ie. its not an LS originally, correct? if so, thats the right one for you!
 












alright, in that case, yorue all good!!! go get that sucker and throw it in the rig!!!! imo its a huge difference offroad imo! presently i have just an LS, getting a no slip maybe this summer, and even wheeling w my LS is much. better than open!! you wont regret it (probably, no 1st hand experience yet, but havent heard bad opinions on it!) just curious, wherabouts in CA are you? norcal, socal?
