I have a new vent because one of the sliders fell off a while ago. Got it at a junk yard free with a new screen. I can't figure out how to pop the old vent off, though, because of the silver clips (or whatever they are) notified in the picture:

Anyone know how to unclip those so I can put the new vents in place?

It's hard to tell from the picture, but they might be rivets.
You might need to drill them out and just use a couple screws to reattach.

Ugh, I don't want to have to do that :( It is really just the slider that needs replacing. The right one fell off. If I could swap that out instead, that would work as well, but I can't figure out how those come apart either lol

It looks like there is also a screw next to each rivet with the left one having been removed. If that is so, then the question is, Why?

I think those are alignment features.
The cross shape interfaces with a hole in the vent plate, easier to align for manufacturing.

Just to finish this conversation... my eyes apparently couldn't see the details even with my contacts. The correct answer is Allen Wrench :) I am all set and now I don't have broken down vents anymore.
