This is a step by step guide with pictures(i hope) to show you how to reuse old electrical connectors. This is an cheaper way to repair those wire broke to close to the connectors to be spliced than to go out and buy new connectors.

First you need to remove the connector from the vehicle.
Disconnect it from the other sex connector. And if one of the wires is broken, you might as well cut the other. You will be replacing these anyway.

Once you have the connector out of you vehicle you can then begin the process of removing the old terminals. On many modern connectors especially those that are weatherproof, there is termainal position assurance piece(TPA), a small brightly colored plastic piece that retains the termninals in place. This can be found mostly on the front or side of the connector, but can be seen in the back as well. To remove this piece you will need nothing more that a small screwdriver to pry it out. There should be a small tab you can press on and just slip it out.

Looking inside from the front you can see the two terminals and next to each terminal, on the side closest to where the TPA was you will see a small piece of plactic. GENTLY hold that away from the terminal. Do not break it or your connector may not go back into your vehicle correctly. Keep it ryed away from the terminal and then press the terminal out of its seat with a small screwdriver. Push from the front to the back unti lthe terminal is out.

You may need to replace these terminals. But they can be picked up at walmart for pennies. Crimp new wires into the terminals and Push them back into the connector from the back to the front. Then push your TPA back into place by sliding it in from the front to the back.

Slice your new wires into the ones left in the vehicle where you cut these ones. Test out the circuit and hopefully TADA!!!!!!
