How do you plan on pulling it? how far do you plan to go? If it's a 4wd explorer you're going to have to disconnect the driveshafts otherwise you'll burn up the auto trans if you're flat towing it or using a tow dolly. If it has a manual trans or manual. t-case put either one or both in neutral and you're good to go. If you're pulling it on a trailer with another explorer I personally wouldn't go more than a few miles with it, the explorer plus the trailer will probably be over the weight limit for the towing explorer.
How far are you going with it? If it's a relatively short trip in the local area to a shop, put in on a flatbed tow truck. You know, the kind that winch it onto the bed so that all 4 wheels are off the road. If you're moving it yourself a few hundred miles, rent a trailer that will take the entire vehicle off the road. If you want a tow dolly, you'll have to do what the guys above say.
Don't you have AAA?
You might want to give us more information than what you gave. There are too many variables to give you a straight answer.
The best answer is have it towed.
