I have a problem with constant error of rear lamp bulb. Because of polish law requirements, I needed to modify rear lamps. In my country, turn lights need to be orange and separate form other lights. I use tow module to get separate signals but this cause constant error of rear bulb.

Is there any chance to turn off this feature in GEM/SJB module? I got all needed tools (forscan + ms/hs can interface) and some basic, but I’m not able to find any info which value need to be change or is it possible at all. I have saved As-Built configuration from my car.

I know the porcedure:
1) use a hex to bin converter to change the hex values to bin
2) determine what part of the bin must be changed
3) use the bin to hex converter to change the new bin into hex
4) enter and save the new hex.

Thank you in advance for any help.

all the as build addresses includes the outage control written on so called " ford as build hacker " program.

theoretically,it should work .ive downloaded the program on ford trucks f-150 forum.

there is a problem to get the original signal light wiring extended ?take it wherever you want

I agree, extend the original wiring to power the new bulbs. Otherwise, you could put a dummy load (high wattage resistor) between the power wire to the bulb and ground, so the vehicle senses enough current flow that it thinks there is a bulb. The resistor will get hot so must be mounted appropriately.

To pick a resistor value for that, you'd determine your turn signal bulb wattage. Suppose it is 20W, then 20W/14.4V = 1.4A. 14.4V/1.4A = 10 ohm resistor, though you might be able to use a higher resistance value and still have the circuit fooled, and create less waste heat. Otherwise, it would be good to pick a resistor with a wattage rating that is double what you need, and it will need a heatsink and thermal paste between them.

Paint the factory bulbs, leave them in place.

^ I'm pretty sure an orange or yelllow painted bulb behind a red lens, will look more red than orange still. Maybe I'm misunderstanding.

I don’t mean to change their color. Paint them so they don’t show, but still have the load the system is looking for.

Thank you Guys for all propositions :) I've allready check some of them.
Extending original wiring is not quite possible. In this model, turn, stop and position lights are in one bulb. In first attempt I modifed an original wiring and almost everything works fine but... emergency lights still blinks the stop lights instead of turn lights :) That is why I needed to modify it again. I have resistors (two 10ohm resistors per lamp) but it still indicate turn lights errors - only turn lights. That is why I'm looking for another solution.

I looked for this soft but every links I've found, has limited access, can you share it with me?

ill try to find it in my old laptop.

Sorry, cant find the setup file.see screenshot attached, thats the only GEM charts refered to your issue somehow

Thank you Bazz270, I've checked this addresses and, unfortunately, they are not present in my module :/

Slowly, I'm loosing hope but there is stiill one thing. This Generation wasn't offered in europe at all but was on Japannese market where rear lamps were diferent then US ones - [Used]★ 1FMWU74 Ford EXPLORER U251 Tail Lamp Left tail lens stop-lamp 340845JJ - BE FORWARD Auto Parts

so there must be some kind of configutration posible... or not :)
Keep searching :)

The charts do appear but the forscan unable to read the whole as build decoding (like eeprom memory etc)

Try installing japanese/russian/emirates/israel market as build file (find japanese/russian/emirates/israel VIN on google) and download it on motorcraft.com.the lamp signal is separated for sure (this configuration sold in Israel until the law changed and the american tail lamps became allowed)

The whole as build config should give you different rear lamp pattern.make sure using same engine and a year for the VIN you find.

It works 100 percent, since ive changed my front/rear lamps config pattern a 3 years ago, using different as build file

I've ordered new interface, dedicate for Forscan. I hoped that something would change in module readings, but everything seems to be the same.

I have two ways to modify GEM settings.
1. Easy way - here I can modify DRL

2. As Built - thease are all adresses

Looking for VIN to compare is not easy. There need to be one, with any difference in configuration to be able to find them.
Maybe someone from Japan is here and can share his GEM config?

does anyone have a wiring diagram from tail lamps to SJB/GEM?
